Handfighting & Set-Up Camp + Dual Night Clinic

Join us for an incredible wrestling experience leading into the University of Dubuque’s first home dual of the season! This clinic focuses on handfighting, set-ups, and top work — the foundational skills that build toughness, timing, and control. Athletes will learn to dominate ties, set up attacks, and wrestle with purpose under the guidance of championship-level coaches.

  • Check-In: 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Clinic: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM - Handfighting & Set-Up Drills with UD Coaching Staff
  • 7:30 PM - University of Dubuque vs. Simpson College Home Dual
  • Free Pizza & T-Shirt Giveaway for Clinic Participants
  • VIP Seating for All Clinic Wrestlers During the Dual

  • Boone McDermott | NJCAA National Champion, 2X NCAA Division I Wrestler, Wahlert High School State Champion (Assistant Wrestling Coach, University of Dubuque)
  • Will Kelly | NCAA Champion, 3X Iowa State Champion (Wahlert High School, Assistant Wrestling Coach, University of Dubuque)
  • Joe Warren is a former Greco-Roman Wrestling World Champion (won gold at the 2006 FILA World Championships at 60 kg).
    • He was an NCAA Division I All-American at the University of Michigan (placed 3rd at 133 lbs in 2000).  
    • He transitioned to MMA and became the first athlete in his promotion to hold world titles in two different weight-classes:
      • Bellator MMA Featherweight World Champion (2010)
      • Bellator Bantamweight World Champion (2014)
    • Known by the nickname “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”
  • University of Dubuque Coaching Staff & NCAA All-Americans

Open to K - 12 wrestlers. Space is limited - register early to reserve your spot! Perfect for youth clubs, middle school, and high school programs looking to sharpen skills and experience college-level competition.
